SA SWIMMERS EXCEL AT HIGHLANDER LONG COURSE INVITATIONAL

Our swimmers were outstanding during the Highlander Aquatics Long Course Invitational on April 23, 24, and 25.

Despite not swimming any long course training or meets since last July, most of the 31 swimmers entered swam several personal bests. But the biggest star was clearly Rodrigo Rozo, who exploded for five Junior Olympic cuts. A full rundown of all results will be available both at the pool office and on our website, and all ribbons should be picked up at the guard office by asking a staff member.

If you missed this meet, sign up on our website for the Patriot Invite in May!

TEAM EXCELS AT AREA 2 MEET

Seminole Aquatics swimmers were superb at the Area Championship meet held at the Lake Brantley Aquatic Center this past weekend.

Of the thirty SA swimmers that attended, virtually all came away with at least one personal best, including new Junior Olympic time standards by Katarina Svetz and Kara Vachon. Full meet results will be available soon on our website. Any swimmers placing in the top eight can pick up their awards (medals for the top three and ribbons for places five through eight) at the pool office).

Next up is our own meet on April 10. This meet will be our first using the online system of swimmers automatically doing their own entry. It's quick and easy, and we encourage all of our team to do it. Online registration can be done on our website starting this Wednesday, March 17.

DAY THREE FROM J.O.s: ROZO, MYLIN, McDONALD OUTSTANDING

On the final day at Junior Olympics, great swims were turned in by Trevor Mylin (1:11.5 in the 100 breast, 53.9 in the 100 free), Andrew McDonald in the 100 free (54.8), and Rafael Rozo, who competed in his first JO meet and demonstrated tremendous courage after slipping badly on his start.

Coach Ackerson wants to congratulate all of our swimmers for a fantastic meet!

DAY TWO FROM J.O.s!

Kaitlin Pickens won the 11-12 100 fly consolation final in Clearwater on Saturday night, concluding a strong second day showing for our team. Katarina Svetz, Andrew McDonald, and Trevor Mylin all had outstanding swims as well. Great job guys!

J.O. RESULTS-DAY ONE FROM CLEARWATER

Three of our swimmers competed at the Florida Swimming Junior Olympics in Clearwater on Friday. In the morning preliminaries, Claire Maiocco swam 30.70 in the 11-12 50 fly, Ricky Nave went a very solid 1:07.03 in the 13-14 100 fly, and Kaitlin Pickens made the finals of the 11-12 50 fly with a 28.35. In the evening finals, Kaitlin roared to a second place Junior Olympics finish with a time of 27.30. Way to go, guys! Stay tuned for more results throughout the weekend!

HAIL TO THE ONE-HOUR HAMMERHEAD SWIMMERS!

Saturday, January 30, was an overcast morning at the pool, but that didn't deter the 26 participants in the latest edition of the Seminole Aquatics One-Hour Hammerhead Challenge Swim. Scott Goddin (5,150 yds) and Brianna Cooney (4,600 yds) won the overall male and female titles, each of them for the first time.

Age Group winners were: Trevor Zimlich in the 7-8 boys, Katarina Svetz in the 9-10 girls, Ryan Ackerson in the 9-10 boys, Kaitlin Pickens in the 11-12 girls, Connor Dacus in the 11-12 boys, Kara Vachon in the 13-14 girls, Trevor Mylin in the 13-14 boys, Dani Baugh in the 15 and over girls, and Thomas Durrant in the 15 and over boys. The Masters winners were Lisa Thomson and first-timer Dave Mylin.

The Team Champions were Scott Goddin, Kara Vachon, Kirbie Ackerson, and Lisa Thomson, who racked up a combined 16,500, winning by just 50 total yards in the closest team competition in the history of the event.

Coach Ackerson wants to thank all of our swimmers and timers for making the event so special.
